FARR WEST, Weber County — One person was critically injured after a crash in Farr West on Friday morning, prompting the closure of southbound I-15.

The crash occurred near 2700 North as a Jeep was getting onto I-15 southbound when it and another vehicle collided, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden.

"That crash sent the Jeep to the left, across the gore area, into the main flow of I-15 where it got hit by a semi," Roden said.

The semi then hit another vehicle on I-15, sending that vehicle over the wall and into traffic on I-15 northbound.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter in critical condition.

"They are treating it as if it were a fatal crash, just to document everything," Roden said.

I-15 southbound was expected to be closed until later Friday morning in addition to the left lane on I-15 northbound, he said.
