Injured Arsenal star only expected to be out for 2-3 weeks

Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis is reportedly likely to be out injured for around two or three weeks, meaning he’ll miss most of the club’s games in October.

The Greece international had to be subbed off early in his country’s game against the Netherlands, but it seems it’s perhaps not as bad as it could’ve been.

That’s according to a report from football.london, which cites sources stating that Tzolis should only be absent for the next two or three weeks.

While that isn’t a hugely long period for the Gunners, it’s perhaps still not ideal at a time when there will be so many fixtures coming up in quick succession.

It likely means Tzolis will miss games against Leeds United, Lille, Nottingham Forest, Bayern Munich, Everton, and Fleetwood Town.

Arsenal fans will surely be pleasantly surprised with how well Tzolis has settled in since his move from Club Brugge over the summer.

The 24-year-old was not the biggest name even if he’d impressed during his time in Belgium, and many players need a settling-in period when arriving in a new league.

Tzolis, however, has gone straight into Mikel Arteta’s starting line up and has picked up assists in impressive performances against Manchester City in the Community Shield and Chelsea in the Premier League.

It won’t be easy for Arsenal to cope without Tzolis during this period, as they aren’t exactly blessed with that many options on that side after missing out on big names like Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior in the summer.

AFC can probably use Eberechi Eze on that side, while Noni Madueke has also filled in there in the past.

Other left-footers like Bukayo Saka and Max Dowman could perhaps also be options, even if they tend to operate best from the right flank.
