Maryland man thought winning lottery ticket was 'a misprint'
by Ben Hooper · UPIJuly 7 (UPI) -- A Maryland man said he initially thought his scratch-off lottery ticket "most be a misprint" before determining he had won a $100,000 prize.
The Middle River man told Maryland Lottery officials he bought a $10 50X the Cash ticket from Royal Farms on Eastern Avenue in Dundalk and scratched it off later at home.
"I was confused when I saw the ticket. I thought it must be a misprint," the man said.
The player said he had trouble believing the amount of his prize.
"My brain said $100,000, but I thought, 'It must be $100. This can't be real,'" he said.
The man said he and his wife talked it over and decided to put the prize money in savings.
"The last thing I want to do is spend it," he said.
