Shoppers have been left devastated after Marks and Spencer revealed it has axed festive Percy Pig treat from shelves. M&S revealed it has axed a Christmas fan-favourite in the form of the incredibly popular Percy Pig chocolate bombe.

One user wrote: "Hi @marksandspencer are you bringing back the percy pig hot chocolate bombs? I've noticed Rudolph and a snowman instead this year." M&S replied: "Hello - not for this year. We have our Rudolph and Snowman options instead."

An M&S spokesperson said: "At M&S Food we are constantly innovating and refreshing our range, reacting to trends, and customer feedback. Our festive drinks range is a hit every year with customers and this year our red-nosed Rudolph and Snowman Hot Chocolate Bombes filled the marshmallows are both flying off the shelves.

"Although the on Percy Pig hot chocolate bombe is not currently available, we always listen to customer feedback when reviewing future ranges." Back in 2021, food Instagram account @newfoodsuk was one of the first to break the news of the sweet treat – which costs £2.50 a pop.

The account also hinted at what people should expect, in terms of taste. "Tastes exactly like Percy Pig sweets, so for any Percy fans out there, you need this in your life," one comment wrote. It said: "Perfect for the autumn season, this Melting Percy Pig is a cup of warm deliciousness! Tastes exactly like Percy Pig sweets, so for any Percy fans out there, you need this in your life! Available from M&S!"

But one critic sniped: "I can’t think of a more disgusting drink" That came after M&S promoted the product on Instagram, writing in a caption alongside a viral video: "PERCY PIG CHOCOLATE BOMB. Our new melting choc Percy is filled with mini marshmallows – just stir it into hot milk and it’ll melt into a beautifully pink Percy-flavoured drink. Video by @thisisplanetfood."
