The car guru instructs: "When you're stuck in your car and can't get out [of the doors], getting out of the car is very simple. Put down the rear seats first and climb into the trunk [boot]."

"There is a small black mechanism on the trunk door panel [bootlid]. This is your life-saving switch. You can open the trunk with just one click.", reports the Express.

While it might sound unlikely, knowing the fastest and simplest method to exit a car when the doors are out of commission is crucial for drivers.

Flat-folding the rear seatswhich can frequently be accomplished with a pull handle or buttonis the recommended method.

Once the seats are down and the driver has moved into the boot area, locating a small lever should enable them to push the bootlid open and escape.

Additionally, later in her video, Master Driver provides a bonus safety tip pertinent to driving during the lengthy nights of autumn.

She pointed out: "Do you see this little button? Press it down."

"This way, lights [headlights] from behind won't be dazzling when driving at night."

Nearly every rear view mirror boasts a tiny tab at its base that allows motorists to dampen the reflective glare during nighttime journeys.

This proves incredibly beneficial when taking the wheel after dark, preventing vehicles to the rear from becoming an encumbrance or even worse, if they've got their full beams engaged, blinding the driver.

Many of the most recent vehicle models come equipped with an automatic dimming function which relies on sensors picking up intense light amidst low-light conditions to tailor the mirror's reflectivity suitably.
