ITV I'm A Celebrity star forced to cut off contact with her father after 'devastating' phone call
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveMaura Higgins has cut off contact with her father after a devastating phone call, it has emerged. The Love Island star, who shot to fame in the 2019 series, where she starred alongside the likes of Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, is set to join I'm A Celebrity on ITV this winter.
But Maura cut contact with her ‘heartbroken’ dad after a ‘horrendous’ phone call, it has emerged. Irish beauty Maura, who is close friends with Molly-Mae, has two sisters and a brother, born to mum Sharon and lorry driver dad Seamus Higgins.
The 33-year-old ended up cutting contact with her ‘heartbroken’ dad, she said, when their relationship worsened after his split from her mum. The feud worsened after she appeared on Love Island, with Maura’s dad said to be “really upset and confused” by the goings-on.

A source close to the family said: “Poor Seamus hasn't taken it all well, he's really upset and confused by what Maura's been saying. He just doesn't understand where it's come from, she will always be his daughter of course but he doesn't know what she is talking about and it's hit him really hard.”
They continued to tell MailOnline: “At the end of the day he is a family man and he loves his son and daughters and if Maura has a problem then he would like to sort it out but he just can't fathom where all this has come from. They haven't spoken for a while but he's busy trucking and she's busy in London so that's understandable but he just doesn't know where all this animosity has come from.
“None of us really know the reason for the feud and even if Seamus knew I doubt he'd tell anyone. He's a very private man and he is away with work a lot of the time, so we don't get to see him much. It's not unusual for him to be gone eight or nine days in a row because he drives long-distances all over Europe.
“But he does find it hard not speaking with his daughter, as anyone in his situation would. I really hope he and Maura reunite soon.”
