ITV I'm A Celebrity star's place on show in doubt after he 'admits huge blunder'
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveMcFly’s Danny Jones has admitted a huge blunder which almost saw him miss his flight to ITV I’m A Celebrity. The ITV show is set to launch from Australia on Sunday night, with Ant and Dec hosting the series for a fortnight once again.
The McFly star was drafted into the programme last minute as a replacement for Tommy Fury. Danny is the second member of McFly to enter the jungle, after Dougie Poynter won the show in 2011. A jungle insider said: "As well as bringing some of the star appeal of the group with him, he'll be supplying some serious guy candy for the campmates and viewers at home."
Danny said ahead of the launch episode: “I couldn’t find my passport in the morning. So I was literally going, ‘Darling, I’ve got to go to the airport now and I can’t find my passport!’. So I was literally like, it was such a quick goodbye, I felt like I’d not really said goodbye.

“But in a way, I look at that as a bit of a positive, because it wasn’t so like, you know, long-winded and kind of like, ‘I don’t know when I’m going to see him again’. It was like, ‘I’ve got to go check the car at the studio, check this place, you know. I’ve got to find my passport’.
“So that’s why you can see that shocking picture of me turning up to the airport looking dishevelled.” He added: “Well, here’s the thing, I already packed it in my bag!” He said: “The Masked Singer is under my belt and I’ve got The Voice under my belt.” Referring to Man City's iconic Treble League of the FA Cup and Champions League in 2023, he added: “I’m going for the Treble. I’m going for the Pep Guardiola!”
Danny added: “I mean, there’s always that pressure, yeah. I don’t know how I feel about that. I’m not really . . . I mean, Dougie, he was like, his flat is like the jungle, like his apartment is literally like the jungle. So he was like Mr Comfortable. Matt Willis is a very, very hard man. Whereas me, you know, I’m just here for a laugh, and I don’t know what’s gonna happen.
“I just thought there’s no better time, because I think when, as we get older, we get safer and safer and we don’t push ourselves or go out of our comfort zones as much.”
