BBC Saturday Kitchen descended into chaos on Saturday morning as Matt Tebbutt welcomed comedian Josh Widdicome into the kitchen area to help prepare a dish. Josh, the Channel 4 The Last Leg star, was left embarrassed after almost touching a blistering blue flame.

Josh yelled: "Whoah, hot!" before host Matt warned: "Yeah, yeah, watch your hand." Josh yelped: "Ooh," as Matt warned him to be careful during the Saturday November 16 edition, which aired directly after BBC Breakfast on BBC One and iPlayer.

Matt then said: "It's a blue flame, you can't see it," and adding sternly: "Don't do that at home! That's why we make Josh do it." Josh replied to the host, telling him: "I feel like I'm back with the Bunsen burner at school, it's great!"

"Yes, yes! Well, clearly, no!" Matt said. It comes days after Josh confirmed he will join the 2024 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special. The 41-year-old comic, known for his role on Channel 4's comedy panel show The Last Leg with Adam Hills and Alex Brooker, his own BBC Three series Josh, and as host of Dave's Hypothetical, is set to take to the dance floor.

His participation was confirmed on Strictly: It Takes Two where it was revealed he'll be dancing with professional Karen Hauer, who previously partnered with ex-footballer Paul Merson in this year's main competition. Widdicombe expressed his fear about joining the festive dance-off, saying: "I am utterly terrified this will end in humiliation and worried I'm going to be so bad I will ruin Christmas for the nation."

He added: "Why have I done this?" Widdicombe will compete against five other celebrities in the Christmas showdown, with the regular Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas, alongside studio audience votes, determining the festive champion.
