Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland has put in a special request to the judges for his Show Dance. The comic, alongside his dance partner Dianne Buswell, dropped by It Takes Two on December 13, ahead of Saturday's grand finale, giving a sneak peek into their anticipated performance – set to New Radicals' 1998 hit 'You Get What You Give'.

Chris mentioned that due to the "high energy" nature of the dance, he'll need the judges to come to him post-performance. "It's a lot of ballroom. It's a pick and mix of ballroom, it's high energy," he shared with host Janette Manrara.

"It is so high energy that they're gonna have to bring the judges to me after it. I haven't been able to get off the floor for at least two minutes every time we do it."

In addition to their Show Dance, the duo will revisit their Couple's Choice from Week 8, performed to John Lennon's 'Instant Karma (We All Shine On)', and their final dance will be the Waltz to Gerry and the Pacemaker's 'You'll Never Walk Alone', which previously earned them 35 points. Dianne, visibly moved during the interview, spoke about their Strictly experience, highlighting how Chris has influenced her with his "honesty".

"Chris has taught me so much, he's taught me mostly about honesty. He's one of the most honest people I've ever met," she expressed. "He wears his heart on his sleeve. He's taught me just to be myself. I think you put a lot of pressure on yourself to be perfect in this industry and he's taught me that it's okay not to be perfect."

Acknowledging the journey on the show, one participant shared a heartfelt confession, "Chris has just brought out of me something that not many people can, and that's just giving it your best go. Things can be beautiful without the perfectionism of things."

The grand final of this year's competition includes notable pairings such as JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, alongside Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola. Fans of Strictly Come Dancing can catch the sparks fly on Saturdays on BBC One, while the companion show Strictly: It Takes Two brings further dance floor insights on weeknights over on BBC Two.

Those wanting to relive all the high points can stream both programmes via BBC iPlayer.
