Man arrested after A5 crash leaves man dead and three injured
by Kelly Ashmore, https://www.facebook.com/theblackcountrylive/ · Birmingham LiveA 66-year-old has been arrested following a fatal crash on the A5. A man in his 30s died when a HGV and four cars collided on the westbound carriageway between Telford and Shrewsbury.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7am on Monday, January 13. Medics arrived to find a man, who was a passenger in one of the cars, receiving CPR from bystanders and firefighters. Sadly, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead a short time later.
Two others were seriously injured, while another suffered minor injuries. They were all taken to hospital for treatment.

West Mercia Police arrested a 66-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed as inquiries continue.
The force is now appealing for witnesses to come forward. Officers were particularly keen to speak to anyone who had dash-cam footage of the incident.
