I found a pop-up Christmas shop in Birmingham shopping centre with cute items from just £1.75

It feels like, overnight, Christmas has arrived in Birmingham. The Frankfurt Christmas Market is in full swing, people are singing in the streets, the shops are dressed up like presents and the finishing touches are being made to Christmas in Cathedral Park.

Nine reindeer have been installed at key landmarks across the city centre as part of this year's festive trail. The thing I like the most about Christmas in Birmingham is the fact that you can enjoy all the festivities for free.

Whilst a bratwurst and a beer may set you back £12.50 at the market in Victoria Square, you can just wander without buying to soak up the Christmassy atmosphere. And, with budget festivities in mind, I was pleased to stumble upon a pop-up Christmas shop called My Favourite Things in the heart of it all, where the items seemed like good value-for-money.

Nestled inside one of my favourite places in Brum - the Great Western Arcade - this shopping street looks pretty all year round. But now with decorations, lights and reindeer sculptures, it looks especially stunning.

And the pop-up shop takes up a double storefront, meaning it is packed full of Christmas gifts, trees, decorations and fun stuff. The windows are beautiful - one is traditional red and green, filled with large fabric gonks, sleighs and Santa decorations, and the other is a frosty white winter scene of Christmas trees, reindeer, snowflakes and lights.

I stepped inside to find a life-size clockwork nutcracker playing a tune and a festive postbox. There were wooden Christmas villages cosily illuminated from the inside, 'Merry Christmas' mantlepiece decorations and star table centrepieces. I loved the felt gingerbread people, fir garlands, shiny baubles and snowflake lanterns.

And I found the cutest metal tree decorations - snowmen and Santas - that were half price, reduced from £3.50 to just £1.75. There's a whole section devoted to Bomb Collection, where you can mix and match three Christmas bath bombs and wrapped soaps for £10. The shop is there until December 24 and well worth a look.
