The list of campmates known to be heading to Australia for ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is growing - but there is one name we know won't be on it. Football icon Paul Gascoigne has revealed why he has never been on the ITV show.

Despite winning Channel 4's reality show Scared Of The Dark last year, Gazza says he declined the offer to join the jungle lineup. With the 24th season of I'm A Celeb just around the corner, featuring celebs like Love Island's Maura Higgins and McFly's Danny Jones, as well as Coleen Rooney, wife of former footballer Wayne Rooney, Gazza has chosen to sit this one out.

Although he's been rumoured in the past to have sought a place on the show, he prefers to watch others face the tough challenges. Speaking at his stage show, An Evening With Gascoigne in Worthing, West Sussex, he shared with the audience his reasons for not joining the show, as reported by The Sun: "Well unfortunately right, this is truth to God, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! , the producers wanted me to go on."

"But you had to see a psychiatrist. If you pass the psychiatrist's test, you're in. I failed five f***ing times! And to be honest, the first time I went to see her I was on cocaine, so she must have f***ing knew. Second time I told her to f*** off. Third time never wanted to f***ing see her again so didn't really go down too well."

Thus far there are no celebrities confirmed for the 2024 version of I'm A Celeb. However one has given a fairly enormous hint by pitching up to Heathrow Airport and checking into a flight to Australia. That makes the first contestant as close to confirmed as you can be McFly's Danny Jones.
