A five-bedroomed house could be build on a fly-tipped piece of scrubland. An application has been submitted to build a large house on former council land off Grove Cottage Road in Bordesley Green.

The site currently exists of overgrown grass, plants and trees. It is surrounded by bags of bins, rubbish and a magnet for irresponsible fly-tippers.

If approved, the two storey accommodation would comprise of five bedrooms, four bathrooms/en suites, stores, living room, a kitchen' dining / family area, utility, w/c, and garage. There would be off street parking for three cars.

A new single width pavement would be built and drop curb would be required to access the parking from Carlton Road. The housing plan will be discussed by planners in the near future.

A Design and Access Statement said: It is noted that the existing parcel of land provides a level of soft landscaping (albeit the site is subject to intense fly tipping) and makes a positive contribution to the local area. A soft and hard landscaping scheme has been prepared to accompany the application which aims to enhance the visual attractiveness of the area by providing a soft landscaping buffer around the site."
