Family's agony as much-loved dad who 'helped everyone with their problems' dies after M5 bridge fall

A devastated family member has paid tribute to his 'well-loved and popular' older brother who died 'without any warning signs'. Cameron 'Cammy' Beard, aged 31, died on Saturday, November 2, after police became concerned for a person's welfare on the M5 in Gloucestershire, said his younger brother Tyler, 28.

He leaves behind his fiancée Sadie, one-year-old daughter Esmae, soon-to-be adopted sons Brian and Bobby, six brothers, three sisters, his mum and step dad. Tyler said he and Cameron were two of 10 siblings but the pair were 'very close'.

"Cameron was the one everyone went to with their problems," said dad-of-two Tyler, who now lives in Oldbury, Sandwell, with his partner Tiegan Freeman, 27. "He was the best at dealing with people's problems. We don't know why he did it. We can only assume he was just suffering very badly himself.

"We were very close; it completely broke us. When people say someone is the life and soul of the party, that was my brother."

Although Tyler now resides in Oldbury, he grew up in the Tewkesbury area of Gloucestershire where his family are from. He said three of Cameron's biggest passions were baking, Christmas and horse racing. The pair would go each year to watch the races at Cheltenham.

During his life, Cameron worked as a carer for children in schools, including those with disabilities, alongside the elderly. His most recent job was working in a shop in Twyning, a little village just outside Tewkesbury.

"We pretty much did everything together," said Tyler. "We loved going to the horse racing. We used to watch certain things on YouTube. I can't bring myself to watch even certain TV programmes yet."

On Saturday, November 2, Tyler said his family called him to ask if he 'had heard from Cammy'. He added: "My mom kind of just broke down. He was a really good guy. It was so unexpected."

Tyler said this was the 'first major loss' his family had suffered 'without any warning'. A few years ago, his nan passed away, having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and his family had been able to put together a funeral plan.

In the wake of Cameron's tragic death, Tyler's partner Tiegan launched a gofundme page asking for funds for the family to help pay for the funeral. Tyler said they have been inundated with love and support.

"We are only from a little town, but because he has had so many jobs, we didn't realise how loved he was. We hit our target. It was crazy. My partner had it on her phone, it was going off every few seconds. I've never done a GoFundMe before; it was unbelievable."

In a statement issued on Gloucestershire Constabulary's Facebook page on November 2, a force spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information after the body of a man was discovered on the M5 this morning (Saturday 2 November).

"Officers were called shortly after 6.05am with a report that a body had been found on the northbound carriageway near to junction 9 for Tewkesbury.

"It is believed that a man in his 30s fell from an overbridge onto the carriageway below. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is deemed to be non-suspicious."

Cameron's funeral will take place at Tewkesbury Abbey tomorrow (Tuesday, November 26).
