This year at IFA, we saw robot lawnmowers left and right. But there’s one that stood out for us, and that was the Sunseeker L3. This new robot lawnmower uses LiDAR and Vision AI to map out your yard and navigate to cut every inch of grass around your home. This is in contrast to a lot of other robot lawnmowers that use RTK to navigate, which also requires installing the RTK base station. With the Sunseeker L3, it’s much easier and less parts to install.

By using LiDAR and Vision AI, Sunseeker L3 is able to avoid obstacles, and you can also drop it anywhere and it’ll set up and get started mowing your lawn. This includes wire-free lawn mapping, which is a godsend.

On top of this huge advancement in navigation, the L3 is also able to handle slopes up to 40% or about 22-degrees. Making it easier than ever to mow your lawn, even if you live on a hill. Sunseeker also incldued a rain sensor, so it can operate better in different weather conditions.

Sunseeker’s Perfect Edge Cutting system is a gamechanger

With the Sunseeker L3, it also provides millimeter-level accuracy for optimized path planning. This ensures that every pass is efficient and thorough. Thanks to the Perfect Edge Cutting system, it is able to deliver crisp trimming along lawn boundaries. That means you don’t need to pull out the trimmer to get the edges of the yard that the L3 missed out on.
