Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition gets its very first update
by Kristijan Lucic · Android HeadlinesThe Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has just received its very first update. This is still not One UI 7.0, though. We’re looking at the One UI 6.1.1 update, which brings the November 2024 Android security patch.
The very first update is now hitting the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition
The firmware version here is F958NKSU2AXK4, and the update weighs 500MB. This update is not particularly small, but it does not add any new features to the table, it would seem.
Based on the changelog that SamMobile shared, only the November patch is noted, along with some stability improvements and bug fixes. Essentially, it seems like Samsung is polishing things in terms of software here.
The update is rolling out to the Korean model of the device. That phone has a different name in China, the Samsung W25, and it did not launch anywhere else, as you may know. It’s also not expected to launch anywhere else.
A report prior to its launch said that it will remain exclusive to Korea and China, and thus far, that report is spot on. If you managed to import one, or you live in Korea, the update should appear for you rather soon.
This phone is seen as an improved version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, kind of
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, as you probably already know, is a new and improved version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. It looks a bit different. It’s thinner, and it has a less noticeable crease, not to mention a better camera setup on the back.
This smartphone was announced last month, and if you’re interested to know more about it, click here. It’s a shame Samsung opted not to release this one globally, that’s for sure. We’re sure that quite a few people would be interested in it, despite its rather high price tag. Considering this phone exists, we’re expecting major improvements for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 next year.
