Early morning power cut in Wadestown and Wilton

More than 500 homes were without power in the Wellington suburbs of Wadestown and Wilton this morning. Wellington Electricity’s website said the outage hit around 3am.

The website said it was estimated that power would be restored shortly after 6am.

Wellington Electricity said crews were working to restore power in Wilton and Wadestown as quickly and safely as possible.

“There is no information available on the cause of the outage at this stage,” it said in a statement
