'Talks underway' over Lorch's return to former club

It is now being reported that Thembinkosi Lorch could return to one of his former clubs, with talks over a transfer already underway.

Reports emerging from Morocco claim that a Lorch return to the country could be on the cards.

Negotiations between Wydad and Al Ittihad

The South African star is currently on the books of Libyan club Al Ittihad SC after joining the side in January this year from Wydad Athletic Club.

According to Moroccan outlet Le Matin, negotiations between Wydad and Al Ittihad have begun over a potential move.

The report claims that Lorch has already expressed an interest in returning to the Moroccan giants, despite his contract in Libya reportedly running until 2028.

It is also reported that Al Ittihad paid €1.3 million (approximately R24.6 million) to sign Lorch earlier this year, with the overall package amounting to €3.55 million (approximately R67.2 million), including his salary for the duration of the deal.

Questions over previous transfer

It was also recently reported that there was a Lorch-related matter at Wydad, with the club's incumbent president expected to prioritise the issue when his tenure begins.

The details of the matter were not explicitly specified, but it reportedly involved Lorch's initial transfer from Mamelodi Sundowns to Wydad.
