Orlando Pirates solidified top spot in the DStv Diski Challenge after registering an emphatic 5-0 victory over Siwelele FC at the UJ Soweto Campus on Saturday.

An own-goal set the Buccaneers on the way before Mpho Padime, Seth Green, Samukele Zikalala and skipper Lebo Mohlala completed the rout.

The heavy defeat ended Siwe’s five-match unbeaten run and prevented them to rubber-stamp their spot inside the top-three bracket on the table.

Orbit College 1-6 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns went on level on points at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge with Orlando Pirates following a dominant 6-1 victory over Orbit College on Sunday afternoon.

The Mswenko boys were put to the sword from the onset as Kutlwano Letlhaku, Siyabonga Mabena and a double from Bennet Mokoena gave the Brazilians a dominant halftime lead.

Mokoena wreaked more havoc on the debutants and grabbed a hat-trick before Gomolemo Kekana compounded matters to see the Tshwane giants to a solid thumping out in Rustenburg.

Golden Arrows 1-1 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs failed to build onto their last win to climb further up the table following a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

With the draw, the defending champions remain in fifth-place whereas Abafana Besthende languish down in ninth spot on the table.

Goals from the respective sides came during the first stanza with Siphamandla Shangase on strike for Arrows before Imaam Hendricks rescued the Amakhosi to a point.

Marumo Gallants FC 1-0 Durban City

Durban City’s winless run of form continued and slumped into the bottom-half after a 1-0 defeat to the resurgent Marumo Gallants FC.

The upward trajectory not only aid the host to successive victories but to leap into sixth spot on the table too, while City dropped down to 15th position.

Stellenbosch FC 4-4 TS Galaxy

Two-time champions Stellenbosch FC squandered a commanding lead and missed the chance to close-in to the top-three after a 4-4 draw against TS Galaxy.

Maroons were on the charge and enjoyed a healthy four-goal cushion before the Rockets struck through Ntando Mazibuko, Mlondi Mncwango, Makhama Rantoa and Latham Gqongo.

Sekhukhune United 1-2 Polokwane City

Polokwane City grabbed their first win of the year following a 2-1 victory over Sekhukhune United.

It is back to the drawing board for Babina Noko whose five-match unbeaten run comes to an end and stay rooted in the mid-table position on the table.

AmaZulu 1-1 Richards Bay FC

AmaZulu and Richards Bay FC battled tirelessly and couldn’t be separated but instead settled for a 1-1 draw in the KwaZulu-Natal derby.

Usuthu made the ideal start and hit the opener early in the first half courtesy of Adrian Dippenaar, but Khayalethu Ndlangamandla responded to give the visitors a point in the end.

Magesi FC 1-0 Chippa United

Magesi FC widened the gap between themselves and the bottom contingent in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over basement dwellers Chippa United at the Seshego Stadium.

Furthermore, it’s back to winning ways for Dikwena Tsa Meetse after last weekend’s loss to TS Galaxy with the Chilli Boys handed back-to-back defeats and rooted to the table.
