New PS5 Firmware Update 26.06-14.10.00 Available to Download Now
What does version 26.06-14.10.00 do?
by Liam Croft · Push SquareSony is pushing out a new PS5 firmware patch that updates the console to version 26.06-14.10.00. This will be another phased release, so you might not get it straight away, but the prompt to update the PS5 firmware should appear soon.
Compared to recent PS5 firmware updates and yesterday's news of QSSR visual enhancements for base PS5 owners, today's system patch is much more low-key. Here's what you can expect, as per the patch notes from Sony:
- We've made some security fixes to the system software.
- We've improved system software performance and stability.
The trusted mention of software stability and performance is always welcome from PlayStation, but today it is paired with some security fixes. At least PlayStation is looking out for its backend and trying its best to prevent anyone from gaining access.

So, still no PS5 folders, but more stability and system security. Again, this is another one of PlayStation's phased releases, so you should be able to update your console within the next 24 hours if you can't already.
