A Nail in PS4's Coffin, Call of Duty Will Finally Ditch Last-Gen Console
Call of Duty 2026 not coming to PS4
by Liam Croft · Push SquareAfter 13 games on the PS4, publisher Activision has confirmed this year's Call of Duty release won't be launching on the last-gen system. That means last year's Black Ops 7 was its last, as one of the last remaining consistent franchises for the console stops its support in 2026.
There was a rumour over the weekend that this year's Call of Duty game actually was in development for PS4, but the franchise's official social media channels have denied that claim. "Not sure where this one started, but it’s not true," it said. "The next Call of Duty is not being developed for PS4."
The PS4 received the following 13 Call of Duty games:
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Call of Duty: WWII
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Call of Duty: Vanguard
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
