TSA offering special security lanes for military at Reid Airport

Harry Reid International is among 32 major U.S. airports now offering special security lanes for veterans and active military personnel, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

“TSA honors our nation’s heroes by providing special security screening privileges to service members, veterans and their families,” the agency says on its website. “Our military community enjoys access to dedicated military lanes or front-of-the-line service at over 30 airports.”

Personnel don’t have to be in uniform to use the special lanes. The TSA said eligible passengers should show a valid military or veteran ID to enter the lane.

For veterans, passengers should show a Veteran ID Card, a Veterans Administration proof of service letter or a state or county veteran ID card.

Other common destination airports from Las Vegas with the special military security lanes include Los Angeles International Airport, Denver International, Phoenix Sky Harbor International, San Diego International and Seattle-Tacoma International.

Typically, more than 4 million passengers travel through Reid International every month.
