Weekly fireworks coming to the Las Vegas Strip, downtown this summer
by Richard N. Velotta / Las Vegas Review-Journal · Las Vegas Review-JournalFireworks will light up the skies over the Strip and downtown Las Vegas every Saturday in June and July to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced Wednesday.
The eight-minute fireworks display to be synchronized with a broadcast soundtrack will begin each Saturday at 9 p.m., and will involve different resort properties week to week.
The largest of the displays will occur July 4 when nine properties along the Strip will launch a coordinated celebration.
The announcement about the fireworks displays came as the LVCVA kicked off its “Pack for Vegas” summer marketing campaign.
“Las Vegas is always a hot ticket for summer travel, and this year, the celebrations will reach new heights,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of the LVCVA.
“We’re marking America’s 250th anniversary with fireworks lighting up the skyline across eight consecutive Saturdays, alongside everything visitors expect from a city that’s all in, all the time,” he said. “From A-list entertainment to high-energy pool parties and great all-inclusive deals, it’s shaping into a summer celebration only Las Vegas can deliver. Add it all together, and there’s never been a better time to pack for Vegas.”
