10 aboard hot air balloon involved in hard landing west of Pahrump

First responders are on the scene of a hot air balloon hard landing with several people aboard Thursday morning in an area west of Pahrump.

The landing was reported just before 6:30 a.m. near Stewart Valley Road by the California border, according to Scott Lewis, director of Nye County Emergency Management.

Nye County Undersheriff Cory Fowles said 10 people were aboard the aircraft and being assessed for injuries.

It is not yet confirmed which company is the operator of the aircraft.

Fowles added that the FAA has been notified of the incident. In addition to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, Pahrump Valley Fire & Rescue personnel also responded.
