An estimated $500,000 pavement reconstruction project on North Durango Drive in northwest Las Vegas begins next week and will result in lane restrictions for the northwest Las Vegas corridor.

The city announced Saturday the project, which spans roughly one mile from El Campo Grande Avenue to La Madre Way, will start Tuesday and continue through Friday. Traffic will generally be restricted to one through lane, the city said in a release. The city recommended Fort Apache Road as an alternate north- and south-bound route.

“The work will consist of lowering utilities, milling, dense grade paving operations, raising utilities and lane striping/delineation. Work activities will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday,” the release said. “Milling and paving operations will begin May 26 and will take approximately four days, subject to weather and equipment availability.”

Amrize Inc. is the contractor of the project, which is funded through the Regional Transportation Commission Fuel Indexing Tax.
