The Leicester Square display will be the first to be lit up in 2026. This year’s display is inspired by the glitz and glamour of the West End and will feature star-shaped illuminations.

The Leicester Square lights will be turned on this weekend, on Sunday November 1. The exact time for the switch-on hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s worth getting down there early as there will be plenty to do.

The lights will be accompanied by the Leicester Square Christmas market and the return of the ice rink. The switch-on event will feature a special performance from the cast of Into the Woods, alongside a festive choir and seasonal food stalls. The lights will stay up until January 6.
