So Delicious Dairy Free recalls frozen dessert over potential stone contamination

The company recalled one of its popular frozen desserts for the second time in less than a year over the potential presence of "small stones."

Danone USA is recalling a popular frozen dessert product because it may contain small stones.

The parent company issued a voluntary recall of So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints on Tuesday. It said the product contained the "potential presence of foreign materials, such as small stones and other hard objects, within the cashew inclusions."

This is the second time in less than a year that So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints were recalled. The product was pulled for the same reason last December.

The issue for the latest recall was discovered through customer complaints, according to the FDA's recall notice.

The recall applies to pints with best-by dates on and before April 3, 2028. The pints were distributed at retail stores nationwide, and So Delicious Dairy Free says it is working to remove affected products from shelves.

"We know this is not the quality you expect from us," the company said on its website. "So Delicious Dairy Free is working swiftly with retail partners to remove the impacted product from shelves. In the meantime, we have identified and corrected this issue and will soon be able to bring the product back to market safely."

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume it. They can contact So Delicious Dairy Free for a replacement coupon or refund.

No other So Delicious Dairy Free products were affected.
