Friday morning, spring break travelers waited in long lines to get through security and onto their vacation destinations.

"5 o'clock in the morning, it was full all the way to baggage claim, Love Field wheelchair attendant Antonio Barrientos said. "It was maybe 3,000 people here. Yeah, hey take about 45-minutes to pass TSA."

But by mid-afternoon, wait times were under 10-minutes at Love Field.

With record travel for spring break this year, and a partial government shutdown causing TSA delays in some places, travelers were advised to arrive 3-4 hours early for their flights.

"We showed up like 4 hours early because we heard you had to get here extra early because the lines were really long," Erica Quisenberry said as she and her daughter Presley toted 2 large bags through DFW Airport. "But so far, we haven't seen a really long line, so I think we might have gotten here a little too early!"

By late morning on Friday, TSA wait times were under 20-minutes at DFW Airport.

"We are not late! We are significantly early," Presley said, laughing. "It's gonna be 2 decades until our flight!"

This weekend is expected to be the busiest time for spring break travel.
