Madhya Pradesh Congress faces backlash for posting Crypto scam, deletes after being caught

by · TFIPOST.com

On 2nd November, the Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress landed itself in hot water after netizens caught the party red-handed posting a crypto scam. Facing mounting criticism, the party quietly deleted the tweet without warning its unsuspecting supporters about the risks of such crypto scam investments—a trap into which it had nearly led its supporters.

Notably, the incident unfolded in the afternoon hours of Saturday (2nd November). At around 1:31 PM, the official handle of the Madhya Pradesh Congress shared a doctored video of Elon Musk scheming people in a crypto scam. Along with the video which advised people to make ‘millions’ by investing in crypto, Congress party handle wrote, “BREAKING NEWS FOR CRYPTO HOLDERS! Millions day! Sound ON!”

Now deleted post shared by the INCMP handle

Within no time, netizens were quick to catch the Congress handle red-handed furthering a crypto scam with many of them lambasting the grand old party for doing the same. It is pertinent to note that time and again, financial experts and concerned authorities have warned against such fraudulent investment schemes which lure unsuspecting people to invest their money in the hope of making quick and high returns.

Slamming the Congress party for indulging in Crypto scam, an X handle named Punit Bajpai wrote, “Hello MP Congress, is that what you do in politics?? Crypto currency??? How is it your busines?? No Sir… something is wrong with MP Congress”.

Sharing the screenshot of the now-deleted INCMP tweet, another X user ridiculed the Congress party saying, “A Crypto Scam is being circulated under @elonmusk‘s tweets , What’s Happening on the Official Congress‘s MadhyaPradesh Handle, ROFL, Who the hell dared to do this!! I wonder if it has even come to notice!”

A few netizens pointed out that after getting caught sharing a scam post, the party will claim innocence arguing that its handle was hacked.

The Congress party is also facing criticism for the fact that it, which is responsible for ensuring laws and educating people about crypto scams to prevent them from getting trapped, was itself leading its supporters into a crypto scam until netizens caught it red-handed promoting the scam.
