Trump renames artificial intelligence as ‘super intelligence’
by Jeff Mordock · The Washington TimesPresident Trump on Tuesday said the federal government will now refer to artificial intelligence as “super intelligence” and will do so on all government documents going forward.
Mr. Trump recently conducted an online survey to see how his followers wanted to rename AI, but “super intelligence” was not one of the options.
He announced the new name during a speech to the United Nations General Assembly.
“From this point forward, all of the United States documents and, hopefully, the world’s documents will be changed to use the much more accurate term, ’super intelligence.’ As opposed to artificial, so it’s ’super intelligence,’” he said.
“In other words, welcome to the new world of super intelligence,” he said. “It sounds much better. It is much better and it’s much more accurate.”
“Now I say, ’whoever wins SI, whoever wins super intelligence wins,” Mr. Trump said.
He said the name change was necessary because the word “artificial” makes it “sound fake.”
“It’s not fake. It’s actually amazing, but we have to be careful. In fact, it’s the opposite of what it purports to be,” Mr. Trump said, saying that referring to the technology as “artificial” is misleading.

In the social media survey, he gave the new-name options as superior intelligence (SI), extreme intelligence (EI) or supreme intelligence (SI). The president included an option for X and Truth Social users to vote on which name they prefer.
At the UN, Mr. Trump dismissed fears about artificial intelligence as a “hoax,” brushing aside warnings from tech experts that the technology is growing faster than tech companies understand. He compared it to warnings about the environment.
“The very same people who said we’d all be dead in 12 years because of global warming – a name since reborn to climate change – because the planet was cooling, not warming and nobody was dead,” Mr. Trump said. “These are the same people that are now saying that AI is going to kill us all, that robots are going to attack us and that everything is going to be total disaster,” he said.
