The U.S. Coast Guard on Monday released the identities of six people killed aboard an air ambulance traveling from Bermuda to Boston when it crashed Saturday off the coast of Nantucket.

Four Canadian crew members and two Bermudian passengers were on the Gulfstream G-100 jet operated by Latitude Air Ambulance when it went down.

The Coast Guard identified the Canadians as Philip Gregory Childerhose, Thomas Henry Farquhar, Sarah Jane Paton, and Jolene Beth Weir. The Bermudians were identified as Marilyn Lavonne Bean and Sergio Wayne Lottimore.

“While we held out hope for the best, the worst fears have been realized, and so our first thoughts are with the families of those so tragically lost,” Bermudian Premier David Burt said in a statement. “Let us open our hearts to the families in the hope that our expressions of love and compassion will bring some comfort as they attempt to deal with this terrible loss.”

The Coast Guard spotted a debris field about 20 miles south of Nantucket and launched a search effort covering more than 4,400 square miles. The Coast Guard said none of the bodies was recovered.

“During this incredibly difficult time, our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends impacted by this tragic incident,” said Rear Adm. Matthew Lake, commander of the Coast Guard Northeast District.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is leading the investigation into the crash.

“We are grateful to the crews and partner agencies who quickly responded to this incident, and we will continue to support our Canadian partners as they conduct their investigation,” Adm. Lake said.
