I cannot cook or wash for a man, and I see no sense in sweeping in the morning- Mzbel
by Mzta Churchill · GHANA PAGEVeteran Ghanaian musician, Mzbel said in an interview that she sees marriage as the last stupid thing she would ever do, labeling it as a form of slavery.
Mzbel’s statement was made during an exclusive interview with Zionfelix on Zionfelix TV, which aired across his social media platforms.
The musician shared that, if she had the power and opportunity, she would advise every lady to keep an arm’s length from marriage, insisting that it is a form of slavery.
She noted that, she would prefer to be a girlfriend rather than a wife where she would have to wake up early in the morning, sweep, wash, and cook for a man.
Mzbel believes that, it is the duty of her husband’s mother to wash, cook, and take care of him, noting that, if the man thinks he has grown enough, then he should do them by himself.
“So, I should wake up early in the morning to sweep? He is mad! Should I wash and cook for my partner? Doesn’t he have a mother? Your mother is supposed to take care of you so if you think you have grown and couldn’t do some of these things, then you have to take care of yourself”.
She added, “That’s why me, marriage is not for me. I cannot get married. I will never get married. Because I see marriage as a form of slavery in disguise. Someone’s grown-up son, and you want me to be taking care of. You would wash for him, cook for him, and check up on him”.
