Here’s Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Amarillo This Weekend

· NewsTalk 1290

Get ready, Amarillo! Cinco De Mayo is right around the corner, and with it being on a Tuesday this year, many celebrations are going to be taking place this weekend. Sure, there will be plenty of drink specials around town on Tuesday, but the parades, celebrations, events, etc., will be happening this weekend for the most part.

These celebrations are always so much fun. Colorful, boisterous, loud, and energetic. They tend to be some of the most exciting celebrations that take place throughout the year, so you won't want to miss them! Here are a couple you can look forward to this weekend.

Cinco de Mayo Fajita Festival at HODGETOWN

I mean, this one is immediately my favorite on the list. It blends so many of my favorite things in one, it's ridiculous. First off, it's at HODGETOWN. Don't ever give me a reason to go to a ballpark; I'll show up.

From 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 1, you will get to enjoy the sounds of Conjunto Relincho and Los Mendoza Brothers playing some live music, while stuffing your face with all-you-can-eat fajitas. You can get more info and purchase tickets here.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Alamo Park

You can wake up the next day with another celebration, and this one is in more of a traditional sense. The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with a parade that will be over the top and wildly entertaining.

Once the parade finishes, the family fun begins. You'll be able to roll into Alamo Park and enjoy things such as entertainment, vendors all over the place, while getting to enjoy some burgers and hot dogs provided by the Lions Disaster Relief trailer.
