According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma will see a "warm stretch" this week and into the weekend with temperatures in the 80s and 90s.

When will Oklahoma see a break from the heat?

Oklahoma has had a few cold fronts already this fall that brought temperatures down to favorable fall weather. But these were only a tease. Second summer has decided to persist and most of the state hasn't seen rain or temperatures below 80 degrees this October.

KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan expects Oklahoma to see record high temperatures through the third week of October, which would make it the hottest October in over 130 years. This all remains to be seen as we are only one week into October.

News 9 Chief Meteorologist David Payne expects a strong cold front to move through Oklahoma late Sunday, Oct. 13. This cold front could bring a pattern change to Oklahoma's weather. And all of Oklahoma is hoping for cooler temperatures and a lot of rain.
