Late Night Study Spots In El Paso
· NewsTalk 1290El Paso is a lot of things, but a late-night city it is not. If you have ever found yourself at 9 p.m. desperately Googling where you can sit down with a coffee and a laptop without getting kicked out, you already know the struggle. The options are thin, and the Reddit threads asking for late-night study spot recommendations prove you are not alone. So I put together a small list of places in El Paso where you can camp out past sunset, get some caffeine in you, and get that weird jittery feeling.
A quick note before you go: hours change, and smaller local spots especially can shift their schedules without much warning. Always double-check before making the drive.
Moca House Cafe Is Open Just Late Enough
If you have not been to Moca House Cafe on North Mesa, you are genuinely missing out. Open every single day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., it is one of the few quality local coffee shops in El Paso that keeps consistent late hours across the whole week, no exceptions. (I know 10pm isn't late depending on who you are, but for EP 10pm is pretty good) The menu leans into Middle Eastern coffee traditions, meaning slow-brewed, intentional drinks made from scratch daily. Their tiramisu latte and the khaleeji cake has people coming back. The vibe is calm and unhurried, which makes it one of the better actual study environments on this list. It is located at 5901 N. Mesa St., squarely in the Upper Valley area.
Rally Point Coffee East Is the Eastside's Best Late-Night Option
For anyone living on the Eastside, Rally Point Coffee on Edgemere Blvd. is the late-night answer you have been looking for. The Edgemere location runs Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. all the way to midnight, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight. That midnight closing time is genuinely rare for a locally owned coffee shop in this city. Rally Point is female and veteran-owned, and it shows in the community-forward atmosphere. Discounts for military, teachers, and students are part of the deal. The coffee is solid, the homemade syrups are worth exploring, and yes, they have a liquor license if you want to spike that late-night latte after a long study session. Find them at 12801 Edgemere Blvd., Suite 201.
Proof and Press Keeps the Coffee Going Until 2 a.m. on Weekends
Proof and Press at 3737 N. Mesa St. occupies a fascinating middle ground between cocktail lounge and specialty coffee shop, and for late-night use it is one of the most interesting options in the city. Monday through Thursday they close at midnight. Friday and Saturday they go until 2 a.m., which is about as late as anything gets in El Paso outside of full-on bars. The space is modern and atmospheric, the espresso martini is widely praised, and the craft coffee program is taken seriously. It is worth noting that some reviewers have flagged inconsistent hours, so calling ahead on weekdays is smart. For weekend late-night sessions when you want something with a bit more atmosphere than a typical cafe, this is the move.
Margin Notes Bookbar Is El Paso's Most Study-Friendly Late-Night Spot
This one is almost too perfect. Margin Notes Bookbar in West El Paso at 7460 Cimarron Market Ave. is a Latina-owned bookstore with a wine and coffee bar attached, and on Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 11 p.m. Thursday nights close at 10 p.m. The concept here is exactly what it sounds like: a room full of books, good coffee, wine if you want it, flatbread pizzas and charcuterie if you need food, and an outdoor patio with a fireplace. If you are the kind of person who does their best work surrounded by bookshelves with a good latte in hand, this place was built specifically for you. The owner, Sarah Miller, has talked openly about wanting the space to function as a community gathering place, and it shows in the atmosphere.
Hurts Donut Is Always There When Nothing Else Is
There is going to come a night when it is 1 a.m., everything is closed, and you still need a table, a sugar rush, and maybe a cup of coffee to keep going. That is what Hurts Donut exists for. Located at 1404 Lee Trevino Dr. on the Eastside, it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Is it a traditional study spot? No. But it has seating, coffee, and it will never close on you. The donuts are made and decorated by hand, the apple fritters have their own fan club in this city, and former Tornillo teacher Anna Lozano owns the franchise location, which gives the whole place a genuine community feel. When every other option on this list has called it a night, Hurts Donut is still there.

6 Places Loud Kids Definitely Shouldn't Be Allowed
Let’s be real—kids are adorable, but sometimes their volume can rival a rock concert. Sure, we love their enthusiasm, but there are a few places where we kind of wish they could hit "mute" just for a little while. So, here are the top places, according to Texans, where loud kids really shouldn't be allowed (unless, of course, they come with a built-in noise-canceling feature).
