People Across El Paso Are Hunting for Hidden Rubber Ducks
· NewsTalk 1290There’s a ducking mystery spreading across El Paso… and no, that wasn’t my autocorrect turning my words into a PG word because this mystery literally comes with rubber ducks!
An anonymous El Pasoan behind the Instagram page “EP Ducker” has been quietly hiding rubber ducks all across the city, turning ordinary errands into mini treasure hunts for locals lucky enough to spot one.
From scenic overlooks to downtown spots and random parking lots, the ducks have started creating a buzz online as people race to find them before someone else does.

I have done stories before of locals hiding surprises across El Paso like easter eggs filled with money, or art work, but when I saw this ducking treasure hunt on Instagram I just had to find out more about it because, What the duck!!!
The creator behind the ducking treasure hunt says the idea originally started “just for fun” and as a way to do something unique in El Paso that people hadn’t really seen before. But after seeing how excited people became, especially kids, the project kept growing.
“It’s awesome getting reactions from people and especially when kids get them,” the anonymous duck-hider shared.
The ducks aren’t always alone either. Sometimes the hidden surprises include snacks, candy, collectibles, and other small prizes, although the creator says they always try to leave at least one duck-related item behind.
One of the most talked-about duck drops included hidden money, while another featured a giant duck placed downtown. EP Ducker even attempted to set up a donation box connected to the project, but unfortunately says the first one was stolen. They hope to eventually bring the idea back through a local small business partnership.

As for why the EP Ducker stays anonymous? The mystery is part of the fun. “People not knowing who is doing this makes it a little more interesting,” they explained.
Honestly, El Paso could use a little more harmless chaos like this and if I am being honest, I just love saying “WHAT THE DUCK!” Check out EP Duckers instagram page and make sure to give them a follow because once the page hits 10K followers EP Ducker will have a special Duck hunt planned!
