Skip the Line: The Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary Launches New Website for Easy Entry

It's been exciting watching all of the great things changing out at the Amarillo Zoo. I will admit that I have never been out there in all my years in Amarillo until my granddaughter moved out here last year. Since then, I have been several times.

She is only four, and from day one, she has claimed the bobcats as being her favorite exhibit. While we enjoy walking through the entire zoo to see all the animals, we always find ourselves gravitating back to the bobcats.

We can spend hours upon hours out at the zoo. The way it should be. The Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary recently transitioned to a nonprofit model and has been making several changes. They started off with new signage, which is nice.

The Non-Profit Mission: Enhancing Habitats and Care

They also went through the painstaking, delicate project of relocating some of the animals so they could clean up their habitat. The spider monkey habitat has received a much-needed refresh, ensuring the water and environment are pristine once again.

They also started a new social media page that you can follow and see all of their updates. In the less than a month that this page has been running, you can see the various updates. It would be exhausting for most people, but this team has taken it on, and the zoo and animals are thriving because of it.

We can't wait for a day when our lives have slowed down so we can take Laila back out there. It will be soon, that is for sure. She will appreciate all of the changes. We do know that we will be able to check out their newly functional website to help with a lot of things.
