Amarillo Singles Reveal the Hard Truth About Dating in Town
· NewsTalk 1290I'll be honest: I have a guilty pleasure—reading the Amarillo Reddit page. It's such a source of entertainment at times. I will say that other times, it can be very helpful and constructive. However, the majority of the time, some silly questions are asked.
Even if the question isn't so far left of center, the responses will get you belly laughing at times. Now, I've seen multiple posts asking about dating in Amarillo. Some actually take to Reddit to look for a date, while others wonder why it's difficult to find a date. The answers are always the best. It did beg one question, though...how is the Amarillo dating scene?
Amarillo Dating Tougher Than Other Cities
Well, to be fair, I haven't dated in over 20 years, so I can't accurately answer this question. Maybe that's why it's so entertaining for me to read it. According to comments, it does appear that the Amarillo dating scene is either difficult, non-existent, or wrapped around one thing.
That one thing? Hookups. That seemed to be a very popular answer in this thread, so if that's what you're after, Amarillo is apparently a treasure trove. There were some answers, though, that I found interesting, and really did give what I'd imagine is a pretty accurate representation of dating in Amarillo.
Hobbies, Clubs, Church
It seems a lot of people mention it's easy to meet people at a bar, but apparently, those aren't exactly good "dating" prospects; those tend to fall in the hookup category. If it's finding a partner you can truly date? You have to put yourself out there in different places.
The few "constructive" answers inside the thread mentioned finding people with similar hobbies as a great place to start. Joining a club, not the music type of club, where you share similar interests with people, and a church. That seemed to be a relatively popular answer, and I guess I can see why. It's a comforting place where everyone is welcomed. You find all walks of life at church.
So, if you're looking to truly date in Amarillo, maybe it's time to shift your mind. If you're not looking to date, but want a good laugh, feel free to live on the Reddit page. These posts pop up more often than you'd think.
