Buc-ee’s Throws a Thanksgiving CurveBall in Amarillo With Sign
· NewsTalk 1290One of the biggest stories coming out of Amarillo in the past few years is Buc-ee's coming to Amarillo. Nobody believed it was actually coming when it was first in the rumor stage back in early 2022.
Since then it has been a whirlwind of Buc-ee's info overload. Yes, they are officially coming. Yes Buc-ee's is even close to opening. The talk has been that the official opening date is on December 16th.
The thing is that tomorrow there could be new information. If you have been out Black Friday shopping and paid attention to any of the digital billboards here in Amarillo there is a message on one of them. I will say this message may be on more billboards in town. Someone just noticed this one in particular.
Near the Texas Roadhouse on I40 there is a digital billboard that has some news for this Thanksgiving holiday. There is a countdown. It is not counting down to the most recent opening date of December 16th. This countdown is much sooner than that.
It is counting down to Saturday, November 30th, at 6:30 pm. We don't know what it is counting down to. We don't know if they are opening up even earlier or if there is just some other news.
It could be the countdown to the official opening time. We have heard around town that they are supposed to open at 6:00 am on December 16th. So that could be what the announcement is. We are not sure.
We do know that we will be waiting and watching to see what happens tomorrow, November 30th at 6:30pm.
To Be Continued.....
POSSIBLE UPDATE - From my friend, Steve;
That’s it. I looked it up. The owner went to Texas A&M. It’s the Texas Longhorns vs Texas A&M football game at 6:30pm tomorrow. That’s the count down. That was a great tease for Amarillo.
