Celebrating The 100th Birthday Of Route 66 At The New Al’s Backyard in Amarillo
· NewsTalk 1290As we are gearing up for the biggest celebration to happen on Sixth Street in Amarillo this weekend, there are many reasons to get out. We all want to join in and to take part in the fun and party, the biggest reason being Route 66.
We have been having celebrations for a few years now, all leading up to this Saturday. So it's the best time to open a new business to give us all somewhere new to hang out on Sixth during the Route 66 100th Birthday Celebration.

That new place has been gearing up to open its yard to the fun. What started as the Blind Pig, a popular bar on Sixth, has officially expanded. There is also Al's Garage, which is getting closer and closer to officially opening and offering some great food.
Al’s Backyard: A New Sixth Street Destination
Nestled right between those two properties is Al's Backyard. Officially dubbed the sister bar to Blind Pig, it is another great place to hang out and enjoy the Amarillo skies during the Route 66 Celebration.

This Saturday, we’re opening the gates to our sister bar, Al’s Backyard, a new outdoor gathering space right next to Blind Pig. Think cold drinks, live music, food trucks, yard games, and good company under the Amarillo sky.
