The Google Status No Customer Wants to See: An Amarillo Business Closes Two Locations
· NewsTalk 1290This has been stated time and time again about businesses closing in Amarillo. It would be nice if we could get some warning. I know that isn’t always possible, but in a perfect world, we would get a heads-up before an Amarillo business shuts its doors.
Sudden Silence: The Disappearance of Battery Joe
That is definitely what several customers in Amarillo wished had happened with Battery Joe. Their Google listing has both locations in Amarillo as "Permanently Closed." When I heard about the closing, I happened to be right across the street from the location on Georgia Street.
I decided to check it out. The doors were in fact locked, and the lights were off. Throughout the afternoon, I did see a couple of Battery Joe trucks drive up, but it looked like they were doing what they needed to close up shop. They weren't open, and the vehicles were not there long.

After doing a quick search online, their locations in Lubbock, Midland, and Abilene are also all listed as "Permanently Closed."

Hopefully, those who have items in the stores waiting on repairs will start to get phone calls to retrieve their items. It's never good news to lose a business in Amarillo, and it can cause some issues when it happens suddenly, as it did recently with Battery Joe.
