Will It Rain On Halloween In Oklahoma?

· NewsTalk 1290

October has been an extremely dry month for Oklahoma. There have been a few rain showers here and there, although not enough to quench the drought. But some local meteorologists are seeing a possibility of rain around Halloween.

The Oklahoma Mesonet recently pulled the rain totals for Oklahoma this month, and several areas of Oklahoma have received 0.0 inches of rain from Oct. 1-23. And the possibility of rain chances in the next week are slight. But not zero.

Currently, Oklahoma is experiencing near-record temperatures. With small chances for rain. Into the weekend, Oklahoma is expected to cool down, but leading up to Halloween, temperatures will hover in the mid to high 80s.

But once we get closer to Halloween, the weather forecast starts to get murky. Up until now, Halloween in Oklahoma has been expected to be dry and windy. But one Oklahoma meteorologist sees a weather pattern shift brewing.

Last week, KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan posted on his official Facebook page hinting at a cold Halloween with a cryptic post about Oklahoma weather with cold face emojis and a pumpkin. People in the comments began speculating about an arctic blast on Halloween, which isn't uncommon for Oklahoma.

Then over the weekend, Morgan hinted again that the Oklahoma weather was brewing something "BIG" for Halloween.

Morgan gave a few more details on Monday this week stating that the Oklahoma weather pattern is expected to change on Halloween and be more favorable for rain.

So will it rain on Halloween in Oklahoma this year?

The official verdict hasn't been issued yet. It's still too far out for forecasters to a give a definite answer. But Morgan keeps hinting at Oklahoma receiving a treat of rain on or near Halloween.
