EUclaim restarts after bankruptcy with takeover by flight compensation firm Yource

Claim association EUclaim is undergoing a restart via a takeover by Amsterdam-based company Yource. EUclaim offers help to people affected by flight changes like cancellations and delays. EUclaim will keep its own name and website during the takeover.

Source is an industry peer and has also added vlucht-vertraagd.nl, which translates to flight delayed, to its portfolio. Following discussions with the bankruptcy trustee, an agreement has been reached for Yource to take over EUclaim’s operations.

Yource will continue providing services to EUclaim’s customers. The trustee and Yource will contact all customers with ongoing claims to arrange their transfer to the new provider. EUclaim is also accepting new claims again.

EUClaim was founded in 2007 by Hendrik Noorderhaven with the goal of helping passengers with their claims against airlines. The company was declared bankrupt on August 24. The trustee stated that the company went bankrupt because passengers were more often making contact directly with the airlines if they wished for compensation after delays or cancellations.

Yource was founded in 2010 in Amsterdam and specializes in airline compensation. Yource operates several brands, including the Flight-Delayed websites such as Flight-Delayed.com, as well as the claims platform AirRefund. The company says it has assisted more than 2 million passengers to date. EUclaim, meanwhile, says it has helped around 850,000 passengers since it was founded.
