Pleasant late-summer weather to rule this week, with local highs near 23°C on Wednesday

The majority of this week is set to experience pleasant late-summer weather, Weeronline reports. Daily temperatures are expected to reach around or a bit above 20 degrees Celcius, especially in the south. Wednesday will be the warmest day, with a local high of about 23 degrees, before a compact rain band arrives later that afternoon and evening. Rainfall over the week as a whole will be limited, and dense fog might form on Tuesday - and possibly Wednsday - morning.

Monday is set to be calmer than last weekend. Temperatures will range from 18 degrees in the north to 21 degrees locally in the south, with regular sunshine. In the north and northeast of the country, light showers are possible, but according to the weather service, the amount will be minimal. The rest of the country will stay dry. A light to moderate westerly breeze is also expected.

The next day might begin with isolated dense fog and some haze. It cannot be ruled out that the fog might become a nuisance for the drivers. According to the Weeronline, the visibility might drop below 200 meters. However, the fog is also expected to lift during the day, and intermittent sunshine is set to arrive.

Local highs of 23 degrees are possible on Wednesday, though early-morning fog might return. But this time, after it lifts, the sun is expected to shine even stronger than on Tuesday. Light winds are possible.

However, during the Wednesday afternoon and evening, a compact active rain band, accompanied by stiff wind, is expected to form. Strong wind gusts will be possible in the west and northwest on Wednesday evening as well as Thursday morning.

Thursday will be again greeted by extensive cloud cover. Temperature highs could drop to around 17-19 degrees. A northwest wind will prevail, with the force possibly reaching level 6 to 7 near the coast. The day is also set to be dry and sunny.

According to the weather service, the following days will be dry with possible sunshine. Temperatures will first hold at around 30 degrees, accompanied by a few crisp nights in which it will sometimes cool to below 10 degrees. This is typical for the last days of September, Weeronline notes.
