No trains running between Utrecht and The Hague due to signal failure

Due to a signal failure, no trains are running between Utrecht and The Hague on Monday morning. ProRail can’t yet estimate how long the issue will last, but expects problems throughout the morning rush hour. NS reports on its website that the issue should be fixed by 8:15 a.m.

The signal failure has been located near Moordrecht in Zuid-Holland. ProRail has a contractor on site who is investigating the cause. “But once that is known, the fault still needs to be resolved, and then train traffic needs to get back up and running,” a spokesperson told ANP.

NS’s travel planner shows no trains running from The Hague Central Station to destinations including Enschede and Leeuwarden. The local train to Tiel is running as far as Zoetermeer-Oost.

The Dutch rail company deployed buses between Zoetermeer and Gouda. “Plan your trip shortly before departure using the travel planner for the most up-to-date advice,” the rail company advised travelers.
