20-year-old Rotterdam woman kidnapped while her apartment robbed at same time

A 20-year-old woman from Rotterdam was abducted Friday evening from a carpool lot in Papendrecht, Rijnmond reports. While she was still inside the car there, the robbery of her apartment in Rotterdam’s Prinsenland neighborhood took place.

The woman was taken between 10 and 10:30 p.m. and locked in a vehicle that was abandoned on a parking lot in the neighboring village of Oud-Alblas. It was not clear whether the vehicle belonged to her. While she remained inside the car, robbers entered her apartment around 11 p.m.

Other residents who were home at the time were bound and threatened with knives and firearms. The number of people present has not been disclosed. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of loot. Police have not specified what was taken.

The relationship between the woman and the other residents is still under investigation, a police spokesperson told NU.nl.

Around 11:30 p.m., the woman managed to free herself from the vehicle. With the help of a bystander on the parking lot, she contacted police.

No arrests have been made. Authorities are seeking three suspects and have called on witnesses to the abduction and the robbery to come forward. The investigation into both incidents continues.
