Exciting new Specsavers branch framed for success in Allestree

Our eye health is an essential part of our overall well-being, but is often overlooked until problems arise.

For residents in Allestree, it will be easier than ever before to stay on top of regular eye check-ups and hearing tests when an exciting, accessible new Specsavers branch opens on November 25.

Store director Ishvinder Bancil said: "We're really excited to be launching a new store and welcoming customers through the doors.

"There's a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes to get the store ready, and we're looking forward to helping the local community with their vision and hearing needs when we open.

"Our aim will be to offer customers the same excellent care as they've come to expect from our Derby city centre store in this new and convenient local community setting."

Specsavers' Allestree branch will open at Unit 51 in the Park Farm Shopping Centre on Monday, November 25, operating as a sister store to Specsavers in Derby city centre. The store will be headed up by directors Ishvinder and Uan, Glyn and Paresh Gohil. It’s a family affair, as Uan and Glyn are brothers, and Paresh is their cousin.

The store has three test rooms, plus an additional, soundproofed room dedicated to audiology, with a hearing booth - alongside all the latest high-tech equipment, including an Optical Coherence Topography (OCT) machine which can help detect eye conditions up to four years earlier than traditional methods.

All rooms are located on the ground floor, making them accessible for everyone, and there is also a dedicated space for contact lens customers.

Our eyes are constantly working, whether we’re reading, driving, or simply enjoying the world around us, making it crucial to prioritise their care. Regular eye check-ups can detect early signs of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration—issues that, if left untreated, can lead to permanent vision loss.

Beyond sight, our eye health can also reveal underlying systemic issues such as diabetes, or high blood pressure. Staying proactive about eye health not only ensures clearer vision but also safeguards your long-term quality of life.

Uan said: "It will be great to have another store locally, offering the same excellent standards in optical and audiology care as the other stores we have across the region – making a trip to the opticians as easy as possible for our customers.

"We will be having an official opening celebration, with details announced further down the line - so keep a look out for more information."
