Galax has come out in defence of its continued existence for the second time this year, following a report that incorrectly claimed the graphics card brand was closing down its factory.

In a report by El Chapuzas Informatico, citing industry sources, Palit was claimed to be closing the Galax factory. This is said to be occurring at the same time as a major reorganisation of the Galax and KFA2 brands.

Galax, a subsidiary brand of Palit, has expressly denied this claim. In, the company says its business operations are "continuing as normal".

"Galax continues to operate as usual," a statement under both Palit and Galax letterheads, published on the Galax website, says. "No manufacturing facilities have been shut down, and Galax products remain available through our sales channels in both domestic and international markets.

That bit about internal reorganising of the Galax and KFA2 brands has some truth to it. We know that from Palit's previous statement on a rumoured Galax closure. Yep, Galax has been rumoured for chop before, and not too long ago. It last happened in April, 2026.

Back then, it was speculated that Galax was shuttering and Palit was taking over. Palit said no, Galax is still operating and we've already taken over (Palit has owned Galax since before it was officially called Galax, buying the company then named Galaxy in 2008); however, Palit did note at the time that it was integrating management of the brand, alongside KFA2 and HOF, under Palit's HQ.

So, the reports of Galax's death are greatly exaggerated, but the ones about putting it under new centralised management are closer to the mark. Importantly, the brand's cards are still on the shelves, including the brand-new Galax RTX 5080 HOF Extreme encrusted with Swarovski crystals.
