No Surprise: Record Sales for Newest Galaxy Foldables

There has been much excitement surrounding the Galaxy Z8 series of foldables from Samsung, most notably for the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It’s a brand new shape from Samsung, and as we mentioned in our full review, they nailed it.

Samsung is reported record breaking pre-orders for the entire lineup, to the tune of 1.44 million order over just seven days. According to Samsung, that’s the highest number of pre-sales for a Galaxy smartphone.

This builds upon the strong year Samsung’s foldables had in 2025. Last year, records were broke, but also it was the first year where the newly thinned out Z Fold 7 outsold the Z Flip model. Samsung said there was a nearly 60% jump in preorders for both phones (Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7) cumulatively.

It’s a safe bet that we’ll see Samsung’s foldables continue as more and more buyers get on board the foldables train. And now with so many hardware shape options, there’s never been a better time.
