Galaxy Z Fold 3 Reaches End of Life for Update Support
by Kellen · Droid LifeAfter switching to a quarterly update schedule last year and picking up new software only a few days ago, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are done receiving updates. This was an expected move, but it’s still worth noting for owners still hanging on to these 5-year-old devices.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 (and Flip3) was introduced in August 2021 and promised 4 years of OS updates and up to 5 years of security updates. In August of 2025, both devices switched from a monthly to quarterly update schedule.
At the end of last week, Samsung pushed updates of F926USQSHKZH2 (Fold 3) and F711USQSIKZH2 (Flip 3) with the August Android security patch before removing them from their update site this morning.
Since these devices will no longer receive security patches or any other update, it’s probably time to consider upgrading if you are still using one. At the moment, Samsung will take your Fold 3 or Flip 3 as a trade-in, but they won’t give you much. The Fold 3 is currently only worth $130, although that will come off as an immediate discount.
RIP, Fold 3.
